Adult & Junior Teams

Welcome to Newcastle Wheelchair Rugby Club

At Newcastle Wheelchair Rugby Club, we believe sport should be for everyone. Based in the heart of the North East, we offer inclusive, high-energy wheelchair rugby opportunities for players of all ages, genders, and abilities, whether you're looking to compete at a national level or just want to be part of a vibrant, supportive community.

We proudly run Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby, Wheelchair Rugby Fives (WR5s) and Wheelchair Rugby League teams, including our pioneering women’s and girls’ squad, the Angels of the North. Gateshead Leisure Centre is the home to junior and adult teams, and we welcome players from across the region, from Newcastle to Durham, Sunderland to South Shields.

Whether you're an experienced athlete or completely new to the sport, we provide all the equipment and support you need to get started. Our sessions are held weekly at Gateshead Leisure Centre, and we also offer 4 weeks free for all new players, to help new players discover the thrill of wheelchair rugby.

Join us, and become part of a team that’s passionate, competitive, and above all—welcoming.
